Basket Purse

This "basket" is knit with size 5 needles and uses a heavier
yarn. Stitches are increased every 3 rows. The purse is knit in one
piece. Two handles are knit separately and sewn on.
The sample was knit with Darice Nylon Plus, a 100% nylon needlecraft
yarn.

Starting the Purse
Beginning at bottom of purse, cast on 28 sts.
Row 1: Knit.
Row 2: *K1, inc.1, k10, inc.1, k1,* repeat from * to * once more.
Rows 3 & 4: Knit.
Row 5: *K1, inc.1, k12, inc.1, k1,* repeat from * to * once
more.
Rows 6 & 7: Knit.
Row 8: *K1, inc.1, k14, inc.1, k1,* repeat from * to * once more.
Row 9: Purl.
Row 10: Knit.
Row 11: *K1, inc.1, k16, inc.1, k1,* repeat from * to * once
more.
Rows 12 & 13: Knit.
Row 14: *K1, inc.1, k18, inc.1, k1,* repeat from * to *
once more.
Rows 15 & 16: Knit.
Row 17: *K1, inc.1, k20, inc.1, k1,* repeat from * to * once
more.
Row 18: Knit.
Row 19: Purl.
Row 20: *K1, inc.1, k22, inc.1, k1,* repeat from * to * once
more.
Rows 21 & 22: Knit.
Row 23: *K1, inc.1, k24, inc.1, k1,* repeat from * to * once
more.
Rows 24 & 25: Knit.
Row 26: Knit as you bind off all stitches.
Handles - (Make 2)
Cast on 50 sts.
First and Last Row - Knitting, bind off all stitches.
Finishing: Sew the side seam and bottom of purse.
(Increased stitches and the stitches between them form the sides of
the purse.)
Sew each end of a handle on each side of the purse, at the center.
The handles should be approximately 1" apart, and 1/2" from the top of the
purse
