Doll's Ruffled Christmas
Stocking
|
This stocking, (sized for 17 - 22" dolls), is
knit from the top to the toe in Stockinet Stitch. The top of
the stocking is a “cuff” that is turned down over the stocking. It
has a ruffled edge that is created by knitting together stitches
on one row, then purling across the next row.

Finishing: You may wish to block before sewing the stocking
seam:
1. Fold stocking in half - (right sides together), matching top edges,
sides,
and toe edges.
2. Sew the Bound Off sts. (from the last row) that are at the base of the
stocking - you don't want these to show on the outside.
3. Turn the stocking so that the wrong sides are together and again match
top edges, sides, and continue sewing the stocking and cuff
seam.
4. With right side of Stocking showing, turn down cuff with ruffled edge.
5. You may use a 4" length of ribbon, fold it in half, and sew to the
inside of
the stocking - at the top of the side seam - for a hanger.
